THRIVE has three types of membership, including individual, group, and institutional:

  1. Individual membership. Here, one pays an individual membership fee of UGX 30,000. They are also required to pay a fixed saving or share amount to contribute to building the capital base of THRAIF.
  2. Group membership. This applies to members of Community Livelihood Improvement Groups (COLIGs), see details on the page of the Livelihood program (to get there, click here). Each member simply pays a membership fee to contribute to costs related to the enrolment of the group as a COLIG under THRAIF. At the moment this amount is UGX 10,000. Then, the COLIG decides an amount of money to Save Against Risk (SAR) on a regular basis. See details on the Livelihood program how this works.
  3. Institutional memberships. This applies to groups formed in partnership institutional of THRAIF. They function the same way as a COLIG; the only difference is being in a formal institution. Each member simply pays a membership fee to contribute to costs related to the enrollment of the group as a COLIG under THRAIF. At the moment this amount is UGX 20,000.
