THRIVE has three types of membership, including individual, group, and institutional:
- Individual membership. Here, one pays an individual membership fee of UGX 30,000. They are also required to pay a fixed saving or share amount to contribute to building the capital base of THRAIF.
- Group membership. This applies to members of Community Livelihood Improvement Groups (COLIGs), see details on the page of the Livelihood program (to get there, click here). Each member simply pays a membership fee to contribute to costs related to the enrolment of the group as a COLIG under THRAIF. At the moment this amount is UGX 10,000. Then, the COLIG decides an amount of money to Save Against Risk (SAR) on a regular basis. See details on the Livelihood program how this works.
- Institutional memberships. This applies to groups formed in partnership institutional of THRAIF. They function the same way as a COLIG; the only difference is being in a formal institution. Each member simply pays a membership fee to contribute to costs related to the enrollment of the group as a COLIG under THRAIF. At the moment this amount is UGX 20,000.
